The series “Ten Tables” evolved from the perfect seven foot long mesquite log. My idea of perfect may differ from others, but they have no sense of adventure! After rough milling, twelve planks of mesquite yielded the tops for ten tables. Book-matching resulted in four sets of twins, each pair distinctive from the others, and each top a mirror image of its match. The remaining two tables are the black sheep of the family, unique unto themselves and even more exciting for it.

Mesquite trees are native to Southwestern United States and Sonora Mexico. They grow in one of the harshest environments which is reflected in its grain and imperfections. These imperfections contributing to the overall distinctive character each piece possesses.
